I understand this blog is a joke and obviously you can do what you want, but you could please stop posting your "art" in the gotedit tag? People go there to reblog quality gifs/graphics and I really don't think your posts are getting any laughs (if that's your intention?). It's really just annoying. Thank you.
LOL. This blog is not a joke. This may actually be a quality blog. In fact what sparked this latest surge, this blog is too high quality for Tumblr, says me.
LOL. It is art, isn’t it? :”D Someone already told me they wanted prints! Can you believe it??
- Okay, okay. The jig is up. I am trying to annoy my followers. And those in the tags. You can block me or unfollow me. I am striving to do my worst. CHAOS! ANARCHY!
LOL. My posts are getting ALL the laughs.*
*The laughs that matter.
And in fact, by tagging it “gotedit” it gets funnier. Again, says me.
LOL. Oh good, it’s annoying at least one person. :D
(It’s been awhile since I read ASOS, especially Tyrion’s chapters, so remind me if there is an actual canon scene like this, because I can’t remember. Anyway):
Don’t you get the feeling that they’re going to insert a scene just so Tyrion can creep on Ellaria?
Like, specifically something akin to Tyrion arranging to meet Oberyn in his quarters and he finds Ellaria there strewn on a couch half naked, and then she starts flirting with him and the camera crawls all over her body as Tyrion looks at her, so sexay
Then Oberyn shows up and he’s like you can have her if you want
Can we just drop the “But who startedit?” attitude while judging the infamous Joffrey-Mycah-Arya-Sansa scene?
Do you really think they were going to be just fine with Arya bludgeoning Joffrey’s head? (“Arya went for him. […] Arya swung with both hands. There was a loud crack as the wood split against the back of the prince’s head, […] The back of his head was all bloody and his eyes were on fire.”)
Did you really want Sansa to talk about this in detail?
Do you actually think Sansa was just a normal reliable witness to all of this? (“[…]Sansa was a little dizzy from the wine. […] and then everything happened at once before Sansa’s horrified eyes. […] Sansa was shrieking, […] Sansa didn’t know what to do. She watched helplessly, almost blind from her tears.”)
Did you really think Robert or Cersei would give a single fuck about Joffrey threatening and cutting Mycah first?
Did they give a single fuck when he was dragged through the dirt at the back of a horse by a grown-ass man who was tasked with finding him as well? No, no, they didn’t.
Can you just drop everything you are doing and start blaming the grown-ass people who were supposed to be protecting and taking care of the children who were involved with this instead of one bystander?
although I'm positively thrilled with Indira's casting and personally love Ellaria as a character, onscreen she seems rather expendable? She doesn't really bring anything to the table plotwise... so as happy as I am I'm still angsty because I have this sneaking suspicion they cast an Ellaria AT ALL to show her bubbies. Probably during a threesome with Oberyn whilst he remains clothed or something.
Sorry for not replying sooner, I was busy yesterday.
Hmm… IDK. Even if she isn’t so directly intrinsic to the plot, I think she’s a necessary piece to connect the main plot to Dorne with, as she’s going to be the one character that goes from KL in one season to Dorne the next.
(I’m assuming they won’t hide her in S5. Because with how ~visual a medium the show is, and you know how much they do not want to focus on ~tricky dialogue anymore, (that never gets old) *eyebrow wiggle*, I doubt they’ll shelve her for a full season or more. And like.. I could see her storming her way to Doran with the news of the events in KL and that’s how meet him. That’s how I would do it at least. Although I’d also show an Oberyn x Doran scene to open S4. But then again my ideas are always better than theirs, so they never get done. lol.
See also: How many casuals are going to remember who Myrcella is right off the bat, yk? Or.. Unless they bring in Arys now, and have him show in both places, though I doubt that would happen).
As for nudity:
Yeah, that’s going to happen. But at least she’s done it on HBO before, so maybe there’s less thrill for the perv producers, and they keep her clothes on.
This is totally a fix. But I know how it works and basically, I’m never ever shutting up about the oppressive racist nonsense that this show and the series and the showrunners and grrm have supported. Especially after being attacked for speaking out.
And you know it annoys them, and I love that. Ilu. <3 POKE THAT BEAR. And just fucking kill it actually, as you have been doing. Because they deserve it.
The way they’ve treated their fans who are women and/or people of color is so fucking horrible. From their depiction, their treatment in the narrative, to marketing, to everything.
She is the absolute ideal choice for the role. She’s a well known face, she’s been on HBO before, she’s a woman of color. Personally she has the look of Ellaria I get from reading and would have been nearly everyone else’s first choice.
But I’m going to skip skeptical and go right to cynical: they did cast her as a make up move. They did. No one can presently prove that they didn’t.
Oberyn and Ellaria are going to have very close if not the same shooting schedule, and yet surely they could have held on to Pascal’s casting announcement if they had her in the works but not officially signed, surely? Yet it’s been a month minus three days for them to get to her announcement, and if it is another aspect to the story of how she was cast well then that’s that, but whatever it is that’s not the result we see, and there are no other facts to argue.
Secondly, cynic in me says yes they are avidly paying attention to FPC and Tumblr.
If you talk about it they will come, and then they’ll deny it, and then they’ll say they don’t pay attention to fandom websites, and they’re not influenced by fans, but that’s just a croc of shit.
Someone at HBO knows what is up and knows what the fandom here is thinking because:
They did know that Pascal would be an issue as they promoted just how Chilean he was at the time of his casting.
The fandom is a microcosm of the actual market for their product and someone at HBO is a bit p.r conscious, so much so that they retroactively erased George Bush’s head from DVDs, lmao. And that’s a bit of a different situation, but still, with that in mind I don’t think a someone (if not that someone) at HBO HQ would not be bothered by a racist label, and prolly even the smallest whiff of that reached top corporate heads.
Those involved with the show, especially the showrunners, they like to hear about themselves, whether good or bad. They probably love to laugh at “extremist” criticism and think we’re all so stupid for being so “nitpicky.” It’s just like I’m pretty sure all college/professional coaches keep tabs on the local media radio stations. It’s about their egos and because we’re talking about them. They’re here.
And lbr Tumblr in particular, despite being “the cesspool” that it is, is likely far easier to read and navigate than other places. (Also, we have gifsets, which must be to them like looking in the mirror when wanking off. Like moths to a flame).
So there probably is an actual element there that they just want to shut you up and appease you with Indira’s casting. But to me that reactionary move on HBO’s part, that’s something to be proud of, even if it can’t be so directly attributed to fans who fight for more diversity on the show. And it might be only partial victory wrt to Oberyn but it’s still a victory.
I suppose it’s now time to remind HBO that Oberyn is bisexual.
